Small Groups Ministry
What are Small Groups?
Simply put, small groups are about being encircled by 'your people' about Jesus. People whom you share things in common with like interests, values, life experiences, season of life, and so on...
This Fall, we are thrilled to launch 2 short-term small groups. These groups are a gateway to meeting others who might be 'your people'. People whom you may want to be in a long-term group with:
Loving the Jesus Way (Young Married Group): Marriage is committing to one another in sacrificial love as our Saviour has taught us ( Sermon on the Mount).
This foundation creates a committed love relationship where safety and trust enable couples to communicate effectively and make repair attempts when they stumble. Applying Drs. John and Julie Gottman’s Seven Principles Program, we will explore what it can look like to show compassion and empathy, how to share our struggles and individual dreams , and how we can become one another’s best friend and playful intimate partner.
Led by Elsa & Charles de Leeuw. Elsa has a deep background in marriage and family therapy and is a registered presenter of the Seven Principles. Charles was a medical practitioner in private practice. Both are passionate about inspiring and equipping couples with sustainable tools for a healthy and God-honouring marriage.
This short-term small group launches on Monday, September 30th and runs for 6 weeks (September 30th, October 7th, 21st, 28th, November 4th, & 18th) from 6:30pm to 8:30pm in The Committee Room at church. For more info email Elsa & Charles in advance at elsadeleeuw@gmail.com. Click here to sign up!
Equipped to Overcome (Anxiety Support Group): Have you been feeling overwhelmed lately? Do you feel alone in your struggles? Would you like to learn valuable tools for your anxiety or how to support someone who is struggling?
Led by Kassidy & Ben Svehla. Kassidy is a registered clinical counsellor and registered kinesiologist, and Ben is very experienced in faith-based senior leadership positions. Both attend CAC, and are passionate about supporting others and equipping them to navigate the challenges of life, grow in character, and deepen their resilience.
This short-term small group launches on Sunday, October 20th and runs for four weeks (October 20th, 27th, November 3rd, & 17th) from 12pm to 2pm in The Committee Room at church.
Please reach out to Ben & Kassidy (bensvehla@gmail.com) for any questions about the group. Click here to sign up!

Join in. Find your people. Grow deep with Jesus.
Which group is right for you?
Short-Term
Either in-person or via Zoom, it’s a great way to meet people with whom you may want to build a long-term small group. We run two short-term small groups a year: one in the fall and one early in the new year.
Long-Term
Groups of 8 to 12 like-minded people that meet in a home or a third space (such as the church, a coffee shop, or an office) to connect in meaningful ways about Jesus.
Cluster Groups
3 to 4 people that meet when and where they like. It’s simple, fluid, yet intentional. It fits even the busiest lifestyle, and is a great foundation for building a long-term group of 8 to 12 people.
Virtual Groups
With no travel required, and shorter meeting times, group members can connect from anywhere. With training, virtual groups can connect as meaningfully about Jesus as in-person.
Why join or build a Small Group?
As a church of small groups, we want to help you connect with your people. Studies show that people are much healthier mentally, physically, and spiritually when they connect in meaningful ways about Jesus.
