BLOG: Even so come Lord Jesus

“The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ And let him who hears say, ‘Come!’ Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life…He who testifies to these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming soon.’ Amen. Come Lord Jesus” Revelation 22:17,20

ENCOUNTER - EVEN SO COME!

I am reading through the bible again this year (many of you have told me that you are doing the same thing – so don’t quit!). Well, I’m actually reading the Old Testament and listening to the New Testament on tape (yes – an antiquated cassette system that works just fine thank you very much). The voice portraying Jesus has been the same all the way through – his teaching, conflict, discipling, trial, death, and resurrection. It has been fascinating for me and it culminated in the book of Revelation this week. The dramatized reading of the book without chapter headings has been arresting. The churches; the resistance of the enemies of God; the deception of evil and suffering of the saints in this grand sweeping revelation to John has been a roller coaster to listen to. The same voice portraying Jesus walking the roads of Israel is now speaking in this great saga. As I approached the end, my heart swelled to the rider on the white horse whose name is Faithful and True – his name is the Word of God!! Yes – God has this all in

hand! Jesus is coming again! As the verses above rang out of the speakers, I found myself speaking out loud, saying – “Yes, come Lord Jesus!”

Let’s never forget that this Lord who we seek encounters with will one day return and every eye will see Him – yes, your eyes will see Him. So take heart and look for His appearing.

Rev. Dave Hearn will be with us to preach on Sunday, September 11. He will call us to God as he has done so effectively in the past and I am looking for fresh encounters with God on that day. That evening we will hold an Encounter Chapel with worship, word, and prayer – I hope you will plan to be there. Will you pray that God will move among us on that day?
